Works with Sonos

Your venue already has Sonos. Now it has licensed music.

Melodial is built directly into the Sonos app. Open Sonos, add Melodial, and play a fully cleared commercial catalogue on the speakers you already own, with a Certificate of Compliance, for $9.99/month. No extra hardware, no phone tethering, no OneMusic licence needed.

Sonos speakers don't make personal streaming legal

Personal and premium streaming accounts (Spotify, Apple Music and similar) prohibit commercial use in their own terms, whatever speakers you play them through.

Registered music playing where customers can hear it is a public performance under the Copyright Act 1968. Premium speakers do not change that, only a proper commercial licence does.

Native in the Sonos app, not bolted on

Add Melodial the same way you would add any other Sonos-supported service, no phone tethering, no Bluetooth dropouts, no separate app running in the background. It works across grouped rooms and multi-zone setups exactly like the rest of your Sonos system.

Every track cleared, end to end

Every track in our catalogue is owned or directly licensed by us. None of it is registered with OneMusic (APRA AMCOS and PPCA), so no additional OneMusic fees apply on top of your subscription. Download your Certificate of Compliance from your account any time, if a licensing body ever asks.

Frequently asked questions

Does Melodial work natively in the Sonos app?
Yes. Add Melodial the same way you would add any other Sonos-supported streaming service, directly in the Sonos app. No extra hardware, phone tethering or Bluetooth pairing needed.
Do I need any extra hardware?
No. If you already have a Sonos system, Melodial works with the speakers you own.
Is playing Spotify or Apple Music through my Sonos system legal for my business?
No. Personal and premium streaming accounts prohibit commercial use in their own terms, regardless of the speakers. You still need a proper commercial licence to play music where customers or the public can hear it.
Do I still need a licence from OneMusic?
Not for music played through Melodial. We own or directly licence every track, and none of it is registered with OneMusic, so no separate OneMusic fees apply. Your subscription is your licence.
Can my staff control what plays?
Yes. Anyone with access to your Melodial account can change playlists or pause playback from the app, the same as any other Sonos service. You can also set a playback schedule so the right music plays automatically throughout the day.
Can I use this at home as well as at my venue?
Your Melodial subscription and licence cover your registered business premises. If you would also like music at home, that needs its own personal streaming subscription.
